^^^^ CB: Yes, and the flag. Most American patriots want to identify with the old good stuff, but deny any connection with the old bad stuff. They want to claim they own ,say, land, their title for which they trace back to founding fathers who stole it from the Indigenous peoples, without recognizing that it was stolen. Or they don't want to acknowledge that much labor ,and thereby wealth that was the product of that labor was stolen from slaves, and that that wealth was the foundation for much of the wealth they have today. American patriots want to claim connection to something they call "freedom" which was won by past generations by bursting bombs in air and such. American patriotic pride and riches are a double edged sword with shame and recompense on the other edge, or should be but aren't.
