seriously? we used to play regularly at cbgbs (the cheap side, natch). 
Driving in to NYC from upstate, I never remember *any* traffic problems. 
Crazy drivers, yes. Traffic jams? nah. But that's a function of driving in 
for pleasure and so doing it in the evenings and weekends.
