Even if you consider net pay, it's about $1177/mo ($8/hr, full-time, 52 weeks, no other income, no deductions: 1031.68 FICA, 241.28 Medicare, 790 Federal, 446 NY State & City). That's about a 15% net haircut for taxes at full-time minimum wage, which sucks.
