How much of this is due to the kinds of students that are selected by the Ivy Leagues versus, say, the kinds of students selected by the better public universities versus the prestige benefits that might be conferred by receiving an Ivy League degree? If a student has the option of going to either Yale University or the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, how much higher would her income be if she opts for Yale?
