[lbo-talk] In Which, At Long Last, I Ride With Mephistopheles and Faust To The East

I have a couple of Macs, love 'em to death, but when I use them for movie-related activities it's to burn videos into LARGER formats onto DVD to watch on larger, TV-sized screens. The idea of shrinking movies down to watch on screens that I can fit into my pocket seems unappealing for a such a visual medium.

Maybe if I was on a bus or plane all the time -- but then again, when that's been the case I take books and magazines, or listen to podcasts. Micro-sized movies -- to me it's like trying to read something longer than 10 pages on the 'net -- I just can't do it. Have to print it out.

I can't imagine watching Barry Lyndon, or Pan's Labyrinth, or a NOVA documentary on something like the solar system, for example, and enjoying it on a 3" x 5" screen. I'd just rather listen to a podcast or radio show about it, or read about it.
