Given the magnitude and complexity of what we're talking about, I
think it would be flip not to mourn *and* celebrate - it's the
destruction of an entire world and the creation of a vastly different
one. Even if there were to peacefully arise tomorrow a worldwide
democratic, socialist, feminist, secular, &c. world order there'd
still be room for a bit of "o tempora! o mores!" in what was swept
away.
