By the way, someone should write something on the psycho-ideological role played by the issue of AIDS in Africa for right-wingers. It's so neatly packaged: You can care about AIDS victims -- but "straight" ones! You can lecture people about their sexual incontinence -- but it's compassionate now! And of course you've got the tacit but all-important "black people are all messed up" meme.
