This approach.. blame the system and the system creators, operators is not a
philosophically justifiable position. That is why we let off democratically
elected leaders of all their criminal acts, once they are defeated in an
election or they retire. Wall street operators were criminals and they
should be treated as such. It is not that that they did not know where they
were leading to. Paulson's conversion that he always supported regulation
does not fool anyone.
Capitalism based on maximising individual profit at any cost is evil in
its very nature and it will again and again dump the common people and
nothing happens to the operators.
