Let me add that there cn be disagreement over what constitutes a "suicide bombing" or "suicide tactic." There's an old WW2 ballad, "The Ballad of Private Roger Young," which celehrates a deliberate suicide: he consciously exposed himself to the fire of an enemy machine gun so his comrades could identify its location. Such acts are in fact fairly commonplace in warfare, and are often if not usually as carefully deliberated in advance as are any of the suicide attacks that get knickers in a twist when committed by those resisting the western ravaging of the middle east.
