Aside from the funny bits at the end -- govt economists estimate a 1%
decline in US growth translates into a 1.9 *percentage point* decline in
Philippines growth, while WB/IMF estimates only a 0.2-0.9% effect -- what
does decoupling mean when you have remittances accounting for close to 15%
of GDP and an emigration rate of 15% of the tertiary educated, an emigrant
stock of nearly 5% of total population or close to 10% of the labour force?
