Parsing a campaign song to equate "immigrants" and "pioneers" with genocide makes even less sense than to read "Every Man a King and Every Gal a Queen" as justifying royal crimes throughout history! Leftists have been known to refer favorably to the American Revolution even though its crucial motivation was Bad King George's refusal to permit the colonists' expansion beyond the Alleghanies.
