Reagan can also be directly credited with the overblown insanity that is America's War on Drugs, a rationale for meddling all over the Western Hemisphere militarily while keeping America's prisons continuously swollen.

Now "permanent drug war" just seems to be accepted as cultural fact, so pervasive it's rarely brought up as an issue to organize around any more.
