Sex work ranges from the 20$ blow job to the $20,000 escort-for-a-week service.

I have a friend who is polyamorous and very interested in sex workers. For a while he consorted with a woman who lived a couple of blocks from my house and charged $700 for a couple of hours of her time. That's equivalent to a programmer's pay, given that to make those couple of hours happen for the type of client that can afford that fee, a lot of other stuff has to be there....which takes time and money.

So, I can definitely see, that under some circumstances, sex work might be preferable to a 9-5. I also understand that some women feel that sex work "empowers" them. I kind of understand that too, though given the choice, I would prefer not to relate to men in that way.
