Killing priests
Article does not seem to mention the exhumation and mocking of corpses (including cloistered nuns) by the Republican forces. It was the prime evidence of the sadism and necrophilia of the Republicans. But the anger was directed not at corpses but at the otherworldly and extra temporal pretensions of the Church, the prime counter-revolutionary ideological institution preaching redemption through suffering, otherworldly rewards, and obedience to authority (Sarkozy seems to love the Church for just this).
