That may be. I'm not as invested in this thread as others. But this use of "nihilism" in aid of Obama's campaign seems a bit loaded to me. Still, perceptions differ.
BTW, Carter never directly invaded another country tout court -- he simply provided the means for clients to slaughter their domestic opposition. I suppose that's the "liberal" way of doing business.
