You think maybe Murdoch gave orders to that poor reporter to seek out
Youngstown workers Duane Tkac, Don Pompelia, Dan Leihgeber, Jim Marcum,
Natalie Grant, John Lesicko, Joe Marion, Betty Ingramn, and Bob Rodkey and
put words in their mouths?
I think we may have to accept that it is not just a fabrication of the bourgeois press that sexist and racist prejudices are making the choice between Obama and Clinton a conflicted one for many older white males in that depressed Ohio milltown and elsewhere.
But not for everyone. "Many working-class men here say they are being lobbied by their teenage and young adult children to vote for Sen. Obama. And some of the area's newer businesses, such as its growing hospitals and the privately run prison, break down some of the racial and gender barriers found in the mills and auto plants that are still overwhelmingly white and male."
