Clearly and uncontroversially he was a bad guy, a dedicated opponent to ideals I would hope we hold dear, not academically, but because they have ramifications for real-world suffering. --------------------------------------- My response:
The thing about Buckley is that he did have many good and admirable qualities. That's precisely what helped to make him such a dangerous ideological adversary.
