Brecht's film Kuhle Wampe had a scene of nudity removed from it, if I 
remember correctly, because a church spire was shone in the background. 
Roswitha Mueller writes in her book _Bertolt Brecht and the Theory of 
Media_ that  "KW was barely finished when it was censored." This was in 
March 1932. The movie premiered in Moscow in May of the same year.
