Chris,

About old film nudity, I trust you've seen the 1928 Luis Bunuel/Dali film "Un Chien Andalou"? You probably have. Remember the breast groping and stuff?

Hedy Lamarr appeared nude in the 1933 film Ekstase ("Ecstasy" - US): Bad-quality pics here: http://www.viff.org/tixSYS/vifc/filmguide/images/filmstills/1307.jpg

& here: http://www.jahsonic.com/Hedy.jpg Her nudity is more apparent in the film, which I saw, and found slow, probably because I'm spoiled/ruined by modern stuff.

Also, that doesn't artsy stuff like this:

And there's this and more, a movie from 1915: http://www.pictureshowman.com/images/Munson_1915.jpg

There's also those "Erotica Anno 1920," etc., DVDs, but those films were never, ever in wide release like, say, Hedy Lamar in Ekstase: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022867/

Chris Doss:

"Yeah, I knew about that. IIRC some people later found Nazi elements in her interest in beautiful bodies. (Whatever.) It's the date of 'Olympia' that makes it appear incongruous."
