In interview after interview, The Daily Show people point out they're not an activist venture, and the show's not what people are trying to make it out to be. They explicitly refuse any responsibility.
The persona Jon Stewart plays claims that the media is nuts, but he doesn't seem serious about looking at the fundamental causes. Even though nutty systems imply fundamental, nutty systematic reasons. And even though Noam Chomsky's probably his most requested guest. (As Chomsky is for Real Time with Bill Maher.)
