I have a friend who's a drug prescribing psychiatrist and he says the drug thing is just a cylical moneymaking market for the pharmaceuticals. It's fashion more than science which drug is deemed "effective." So far as he's concerned, they're more or less interchangeable.

Having said that, I notice that xanax is a much cleaner drug than Valium. So, there is some improvement.
