I've done no such thing. I've offered my personal experience with dealing with the kinds of situations shag finds herself in, not unlike the way one might say "I also got a speeding ticket, and here's how it went for me" or "I got a divorce, and let me tell you what I learned" -- it's only you who has some kind of special responsibility to not 'spout off' about the law. I'm just fine with every word I've said: morally, ethically, and most of all ... friendly.

In the context of a joke, it's bad form to not recognize the butt of the actual joke and take your razzing with elegance.
