Umm maybe not as bad as the WWN and has broken a few stories. It HAS lost libel suits and settled out of court also: it is pretty damn unreliable. False stories include:
Elizabeth Smart sex ring, Gary Condits wife Kate Hudson Cameron Diaz Also way back when there was the Carol Burnett story
And that does not count all the cases where people did not bother to sue or seek retractions. They won't stop at the truth if makes a good story but "accurate"? Puhleeze. They went through a period when the sought respectability, dropped in circulation, went back to not pretending not to lie and recovered.
