[lbo-talk] linkedin is officially fantabulous

OK. I exaggerate, but man, no sooner had I updated my profile to include a little more of my background, join a couple of groups, and wham! phone call from a recruiter looking for IT talent in a certain large city where I've been poking around for bites. I've been looking for that through the traditional methods via my job board profiles indicating metro areas to which I'm willing to relocate, but not a bite.

Then, in preparation for an interview tomorrow, the recruiter I'm working with had me join her network which in turn gave me an opportunity to learn more about the person who'll be interviewing me.

Killer app, man. Killer app. Yeah, I exaggerate, but it sure is useful. And I'm thrilled to be working with a recruiter who actually preps you appropriately.

Has anyone else had experiences like this with linkedin?
