Interesting thread. We are clearly going through a historical period in
which the death of old genres and the birth of new ones is occurring
before our very eyes, and none too slowly. It would be an interesting
study that somehow attempted to detail what the emerging expressive and
communicative genres are. I suppose that such an exercise would be
partly speculative and partly empirical.
