So what are his injuries from? I agree with you about the disability payment, the moment you start means testing you bring in a new level of burden to prove you're eligible. It's already a bureaucratic nightmare to prove to the military that you're disabled, especially if it's something like PTSD. Also, if the sex roles were reversed, do you really want his money regarded as her income?
