Who's subverting Marxism?
^^^ CB: Lets discuss this tomorrow. I have to get going. What is it concerning Marxism as another "master narrative".
^^^^^
If you're talking about someone like Foucault, his concern was to subvert dogma. He got sick of people asking him about Marx, as if his work was defined by whether he was for or against Marx.
^^^^ CB: Which dogmas was he subverting ? With respect , not all dogma should be subverted. Some is true theory. What some people call dogma, other people call valid theory or whatever.
As far as getting sick about being questioned...lets discuss it tomorrow.
^^^^^
One of the most dedicated upholders of Marxism as a grand utopian narrative is "postmodernist" Frederic Jameson. In his big book on postmodernism he sums up his project as a retrieval of the sixties call to "name the system" in order to change it.
^^^^ CB;
I really don't know what people are on about with the idea social constructionists/pomos/etc. are "subverting Marxism."
^^^^ CB: I'll try to find some specific famous places where there _seems_ to be a contradiction between them. You subscribe to some aspects of post-___. Don't some of the ideas you get from post-theories contradict your idea of Marxism ?
