[man, they just can't let this stuff go away!]
Don't worry,
the best jokes are intranslatable into english.
Alexander Zinoviev told us in a discussion on the history of formal logic in the Soviet Union this story:
Many years, before he had to leave the Soviet Union, he was teaching mathematics in a course for artillery officiers. When he came first into the facility near Moscow, he saw a big propaganda painting with the russian text:
"Nash tsel: Communizm ! "
= "Our goal: Communism ! "
But in russian is "tsel" the word not only for goal, but for target too - like the german "Ziel".
