Sorry to be reductive, but isn't this at least partly because there  
are almost no black Mormons? Isn't being black one of the most  
reliable predictors of not voting Republican?

Wow. Why are Mormons so pro-Republican (at 52%, as opposed to only  
38% of Evangelicals)?
