MOSCOW, June 23 (Reuters) - Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom (GAZP.MM: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Monday it had discussed the possibility of selling gas to Israel.
"Both sides discussed prospective Russian-Israeli partnership in the sphere of energy, in particular, gas shipments to Israel," Gazprom said in a statement.
Gazprom's CEO Alexei Miller met with Israel's Minister of Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer in Moscow, it added.
"Ben-Eliezer took a great interest in gas shipments to Israel on a long-term contract basis," the statement said.
