No doubt, since up to now the Venezuelan opposition has shown itself to be extraordinarily incompetent, most notably with their bungled coup attempt back in 2002. Since, it seems unlikely that they have suddenly become all that much smarter, it's most probable, that they are now receiving outside (read US) help in their attempts at destabilizing Chavez's regime. The attempts to infilitrate the barrios to take advantage of popular discontent would suggest the hand of the CIA here.
