No , actually a change to racial and ethnic unity would be ...uhh hopeful in this nation with problems of racial and ethnic division.
As to unity on the left, the left slogan is "Workers of the World , UNITE !" as in unity of workers.

The question is, as it always should be, "unity" for what? It's a form/content thing. A national unity of classes, nope. A national unity of race (we're all in the same one), yes.
