[lbo-talk] Jeremiah Wright or Wrong?

When somebody characterizes a politician's behavior with an anodyne and self-evident phrase like "not alienating the electorate" or "not losing 49 states" I tend to suspect the operation of euphemism.

But maybe "willing to do whatever it takes" was too strong. I can't be sure (much less prove, as Max would no doubt demand) that Obama would be willing to boil a baby to become President -- although Bill Clinton was quite willing to fry a halfwit in the same noble cause.
