May 1, the international day to honor workers, is not an official U.S. holiday. But thousands of dockworkers are marking the day with a voluntary action demanding that the United States immediately end the war and occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan and withdraw U.S. troops from the Middle East. Members of the Longshore Division of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) are spearheading the waterfront action.
