[WS:] I think you are misinterpreting his response. To me it meant that in 2008 Amerika everything is trivialized, debased, and reduced to the lowest common denominator by the mass media. Therefore, voting for POTUS is no fundamentally different than voting for Miss America or the American Idol - all are exercises in silly popularity contests and mindless entertainment.
