In other words, I was trying to point out that Chomsky often emphasizes the US public's backwards attitudes about a lot of things, like their off-the-charts religiosity, their not being interested in affairs outside their own country, and other stuff.

He has mentioned that over the course of his life he has realized he's fallen into a "kind of natural division of labor" wherein he provides facts, and others (organizers) use them. He isn't an organizer himself; he's someone who provides the ammo for others. And he has often conceded that's "all" he is.

Like he's said, he isn't Amnesty Int'l, and his "faith" in people is limited. The 1st page of Hegemony or Survival says the human race could & might easily very well kill itself, and sometime soon.
