If BHO had Hampton's chops, he'd already be dead or in jail.
As Warren Ballantine, who's a big BHO booster, put it recently on his radio show, black America has yet to get over the assassinations of its leaders in the 60s. I believe Cockburn made a similar point, suggesting that there probably wasn't a conspiracy to decapitate black activist leadership, but given what happened, there might as well have been. I agree. It also shows that there is a low, poison-spiked ceiling for black radical challenges, which is why BHO's campaign has taken on the aura it has.
