[WS:] I just do not understand all that brouhaha about individual home ownership. This is plain bullshit, suckering people into the most expensive (and thus profitable to bankers and real estate dealers), wasteful and least efficient housing arrangement available. This is so Amerikan - just like transportation and health care.

Fuck that Amerikan Dream and use the bailout money to finance an alternative - housing cooperatives. Every other nation has them, so getting Amerikans out of their stupid overpriced plywood shacks (and McMansions) into more sustainable, affordable and energy efficient high density and cooperatively owned housing would be the next best things after getting their fat asses out of the gas guzzling SUVs.
