That's just silly. If California had a bullet train, he'd have to make it over to SF by 7am in order to be at UCLA before noon. On the other hand, he could make it to OAK by 9am and still be there in plenty of time. And it's about the same cost ($126 on Southwest as of right now) as a bullet train ride would be (if it existed). It's going to take three times as long to take the train as it presently does to fly (3hr/1hr).
