we were already going... Did I just hear on NPR that he cleaned out all the Liberals around Clinton to boot. I'm just shocked that Obama would select him. Just shocked.
But speaking of the destruction of welfare as we knew it....
I figured that the FAUX obsession with card check and with early voting was about just that: the fear that Obama is going to steal their issues, like Clinton did. Or,
I think it was DeLay who was on FAUX or maybe MSNBC. He was demonizing Pelosi and in doing so was saying that, while Obama might run on a centrist platform, Pelosi would spring card check on him and then Obama would show his true colors. IOW, I think it was the cons way of putting the heat on. Demonise Pelosi and company as the crazy radical socialists and then dare Obama to do anything that might make it looks like he agrees. In this way, they can push him to the right, keep milking all that talk of working with Republicans, etc. etc.
And personally, FAUX folks have to be happier than hell with the opportunities that will arise with what Dennis Perrin described as a "burning cottage industry" of anti-Obama, anti-Democrat venom the likes of which we haven't seen since Clinton.
As with Clinton, what they were terrified of was the fact that he stole their issues, like welfare reform. If Obama does the same thing, steals their hobby horses, they will hate him as much and more.
