Looks like the Obamists are testing to see what they can get away with. It's a trial balloon: Nobody who's actually in the transition is quoted, even anonymously - just "Democratic operatives" and this CAP wanker. So if the outcry is too great they can always deny it came from inside the transition. Hopefully there will be a loud pushback, and not just from the unions themselves. If not, shelving the EFCA would be the biggest Democratic sellout of labor in 30 years. At least in 1993 they could honestly say they didn't have the votes.
