This intelligence trope interests me greatly. I can understand 
why a high-scoring National Merit liberal might want an 
intelligent president -- IQcracy is the Palladion 
of such people, for reasons not far to seek. But why would 
a leftist want a smart guy in charge of the Empire? Shouldn't
we *prefer* a 'dummy'?
