forgive the comment of a trade union liberal: but its interesting how the
Marxist left has written off Obama and his movement more quickly than the right
has. the right is gearing up to thwart Obama's liberalism while some of the
writers to lbo think he has sold out the people who got him elected even
before he has been sworn into office and that his organizational structure will
prove useless. But where is the left movement to match what Obama and his
netroots have done? Maybe you should pay attention and look to some unions such
as PSC-CUNY who sent about 200 members to Pa. They got involved. Of course,
the employee free choice act may not be forthcoming, as doug suggests, but
labor might be able to move him. Anyway having turned the PA district for Obama
does give one labor union some clout, even if small. Lively discussion; I'm
glad that I joined this list.
