[lbo-talk] back to the economy for a sec

The looting will continue until someone makes them stop. The fact that all this money is being handed out with no change in mgmt and with no strings attached/or strings are eased at the first whimper...this is basically a form of looting. It's also too bad that there are no contractual agreements, because that would be reason enough for jail time....but instead they're handing over hundreds of billions of dollars on the "hope" that banks will lend again, etc.

This is because for the last twenty five years, govt office has come to mean nothing more than a license to steal or the power of giving your friends permission to steal. The euphemism for stealing being "privatization," which has now been extended to include "saving the economy." Since they have convinced us that the economy means both your bank account and the bonuses of AIG executives (for some reason you can't have one without the other???), it looks like there's no alternative to the bailouts. It remains to be seen how much they're able to steal in the next two months and what effect that will have on Obama's ability to restabilize and rebuild the economy through infrastructure project and other trickle up jobs programs.
