Ronald *Maximus* Regan?
Well, that's a new one on me.
I did a GOOG search and got this:
A listing of huffy, puffy conservative sites (in a burst of East Coast elitism, I pictured an army of red faced, beer bellied men, constantly shouting about something).
Apparently, Regan was more than an inspiring and capable president, a light unto conservatives everywhere; he's also director Ridley Scott's Maximus Decimus Meridius made flesh. Isn't that a bit of ideological perfection?
Regan, the studio system actor turned politician who never forgot Hollywood's lessons about self presentation is described as having the admirable qualities of a fictional person who rescued a fictional version of the Roman Empire from tyranny.
