What is it that 'we' hope to 'win' ? Is it a battle ?
Folks say that financial mismanagement has caused 'the problem'.
From a slightly different point of view, it is the failure to _pay_ mortgages that brought the financial system to this impasse. It's like a strike action - withholding service. Maybe 'we' already won? <shrug>
