Speaking of the good old days has anyone recently been doing any reading about late 19th century capitalism? I read Martin Sklar's excellent book "The Corporate Reconstruction of American Capitalism" many years ago but that's really the only book related to the subject I have read. I'm looking for writing concerning the social history of American capitalism before the Progressive Era which Sklar's book doesn't really cover. Anyone read anything good on the subject that they can recommend? I find myself having quite a bit of free time lately and with cold weather is just around the corner I feel like I can easily justify reading several books on the subject.
