To the Editor:

Senator Barack Obama won the debate based on performance. Senator John McCain won on substance and trust.

I think Mr. Obama is a socialist who will change the very foundation of our nation. That may appeal to some, but the reality is that socialism does not work.

Heavily taxing hard-working citizens and businesses because they make more than $250,000 a year and allowing the government to redistribute it to others is just plain Marxist-style socialism.

It limits the American Dream by penalizing achievers. It taxes millions of small businesses, and that will kill jobs for the very people it is intended to help.

Our current financial meltdown is largely the result of giving people something they could not afford. The bad home loans that couldnt be paid off began a financial meltdown and domino effect, and that has left taxpayers paying for this failed socialist scheme.

Mr. Obama believes in government control. Mr. McCain believes in us that we are better managers of our own lives. Its a clear choice.
