Very true. Interesting, in this context, to note the insistence on the representation of political possibility as a continuum -- at least as drummed into me, in high school: The radical left and right are first described as two extremes of a linear continuum, that are shown to actually meet (this can only be grasped by sophisticated minds!), united by the common factor of Totalitarianism....while the "middle," the apex of the continuum, occupies a sort of Buddhist golden center.
