Oh, I'll be the first to admit I could be wrong, but the thing is, the evidence we're entering the post-US-imperial moment is massive and overwhelming. It's the same story no matter where you look - culture, economics, politics, mass media, tourism are all going multipolar. The world isn't run from DC anymore, the power-lines congregate in places like the EU, China, and the developmental states of East Asia, Russia and Latin America.

So an Obama victory would be nice, and make the transition easier for Americans, but realistically, the MacChurian Candidate would have no power to stop or even slow down this transformation. That said, it's true the latter would inflict terrible pain on ordinary Americans, which is why I'll be voting against that loathsome imperial swine.
